Blood Donors' Recognition Day 2016

Last July 29, I attended Philippine Red Cross Laguna Chapter's Blood Donors' Recognition Day 2016. Actually, I was with two officemates, Kristine Cruz, our company nurse and Aris Guevarra from Facility Dept.

What is a Blood Donors' Recognition Day? It is an annual event organized by Philippine Red Cross Laguna Chapter which gives recognition to employers, employees, religious groups, NGOs, government sectors, and others who have contributed greatly to Red Cross' blood donation programs. For Pricon, we were given a plaque for being one with Red Cross for 11 years.

11 Years of Service Award

Philippine Red Cross gives recognition also to individuals who voluntarily donated blood for nine (9) times, it is called Galloner Award. For this year, we only have one (1) awardee :

Aristotle L. Guevarra, our lone galloner awardee for this year

We were able to have a photo op with the Board of Directors of PRC :

Standing from left to right :
Dir. Jen Sorel Jasareno, Dir. Fred Capistrano, Dir. Jaime B. Ching-Chairman,
Frank Gray M. Sorromero-Chapter Administrator, Dir. Lito F. NoroƱa, Eryl Agus-Former Asst. Administrator

With Hon. Karen Agapay, Laguna Vice-Governor

The story doesn't end there. When I return to the office the next day, I was excited to show the plaque to the HR people. Since we already received the same award last year, I decided to check on the trophy displayed at the lobby, I was shocked because last year, it was 12 Years of Service Award. How come this year, it became 11 Years of Service??!!??

The trophy given last year - 12 Years of Service Award

So in short, the award is under protest.

I will give you an update regarding the result of my protest.

LET Rating Is Out!

Hello guys!

Nothing much to say except that Jojo's LET rating is out!

Here it is...

I immediately texted Jonathan to inform him of this latest update. He was a bit shocked that he got a high rating.

Anyways, 84.40 is quite an achievement. Don't you think so?

Should I or Should I Not?

Hello there!

I already told you about my son who recently passed the LET board exam right? And from what I know and usually see, proud parents or families of those board passers would display a tarpaulin outside their homes.

Like this one...

So, what do you think? Should I print or should I not?

My First Zalora Experience!

It's Fun Run season again!

But how can you join the fun if you have nothing to wear on your feet?

That is exactly my predicament. So since I have no more time to go to the malls to buy running shoes (actually, it's "walking" shoes), I resorted to shopping online. And since my friends in the office gave good reviews with Zalora, I decided to try it as well.

I browsed through the Women's Sneakers section and I saw several brands. Some are priced just right while others are too expensive ( at least for me).

What amazed me though, was how fast they delivered my order!

I ordered Fila yesterday at around 8:15 AM and my order was delivered before lunch today!

Isn't that fast! And to think that their website says delivery to provincial areas takes about 5-7 days. I'm impressed! Really, really impressed!

How about you? Have you tried online shopping? What's your experience?

Enchanting Trip at Enchanted Kingdom

Hello there!

Being with your family is probably one of the happiest moments in anyone's life. And why not? You are sorrounded by the people you love. What else can you ask for?

That's exactly what I felt when we had our family bonding last November 20 at Enchanted Kingdom!

There were 13 of us - Mom, Ate Fe & Gab, Alex, Me, Jojo & Jason, Dennis & Dale, Don, Grace, Venan & Angel. Three family members were absent - Kuya Darwin who is in Saudi, Menchie in Singapore & Patrick, whose exam in differential calculus was scheduled on that date.

We arrived at around 11:00 AM only to find out that the park will open at 12:00 noon. So, we decided to have our lunch first and off we go to Rose & Grace Restaurant in Paseo.

After eating, we proceeded to EK. We arrived at around 1:00 PM and the place was already jampacked with students having their field trip. As soon as we entered the gate, the fun began!

We went home at around 6:00 PM since Dennis have some errands to do. So sad we were not able to witness the fireworks that evening.

We plan on going back to EK. This time, it will just be the four of us - Alex, Me, Jojo and Jason. Why? So we can stay until 8:00PM or until we see the  fireworks display.

Licensure Examination for Teachers 2015

Hello everyone!

I am a bit nervous for this coming LET exam on Sunday, September 27. And why not? My son, Jojo, will be taking the exam for the first time.

He is assigned at University of the East, Manila as seen here.

And so, since we will be coming from Taguig and I don't want my son to suffer from stress due to long travel time, I decided that we just rent a room at a hotel nearest UE. When I consulted Mr. Google, the hotel nearest UE is...................tadahhh! ................. Sogo Hotel Recto! Whew! I know! I know! This hotel is a place where lovers usually check-in for some "happy" times. But I have no choice. We will be staying here for one (1) night only - check-in is September 26 and check out the following day. Just to avoid the hassle of being stuck in traffic.

So there, just because of the LET, I will be experiencing how a motel looks like! Hahahaha!

Seriously, please pray for my son that he will pass the LET exam with flying colors.

Thanks in advance!
